That's the way it's written. You can have maildrop send a warning to the user when his/her mailbox is nearing the quota limit - for this again read the docs. Further, 2 of our 3 site MUAs, SquirrelMail (with plugin) and Thunderbird, will show the quota use to the users (SM pushes it up their noses, with Thunderbird the users have to be really savvy to figure out how they can see their quota use). Evolution 2 has no quota notification support.

Thanks, it turns out I was using the maildirsize file and the MYSQL quota field correctly, with the exception of not having the S in the MYSQL quota field. Also, I was needlessly invoking maildirmake -q on mailbox creation. The concat line in authmysqlrc fixed the first problem and a quick edit of our web interface fixed the other.
