I actually have the same question. I'd like to be able to retrieve information like the INDUSTRY and SECTOR of a stock. This info is already on the Google Finance page for each stock and would be useful in the api. Other examples would be the info at the top of a stock's Google Finance page like Mkt Cap, PE, F PE, Dividend Yield, EPS, Beta.

I think having this kind of data opens up many possibilities for analyzing the composition of a portfolio.
