We are required by law to notify someone who chooses a link off of our site that they are leaving our site. The creators of the website were just using JavaScript pop-ups for that, but pop-up blockers and the number of users hitting our site who have scripting disabled (I could not believe it!) require us to find a different solution.

I would like to use a server solution, but I am not that familiar with JSP, so I am updating those links so they just bring up our disclosure page before going offsite. I've had pretty good luck reformatting the page so that the text is about the same size as it was in the pop-up, except for IE/Win 6.0.

I used a max-width on my disclosure div, and it looks great in Opera, Mozilla, Firefox, and even Netscape 7.1, but IE seems to ignore it.

Can someone offer me an alternative to this? I'm new to web design, and I have tried to stay away from the table format the rest of the site was built in.

My test page is here: http://www.fandmbank.com/disclosureExit_new.html

My stylesheet is here: http://www.fandmbank.com/lib/disclosure.css

If you would like to reply offlist, that would be fine, otherwise, I'll catch it with the next digest.

TIA for your help!
