We have been playing around with WebKeeper and have it working for normal
HTML pages but have two questions:
1 - It doesn't work with script files. We tried to webkeep a PHP3 project
but it just returns that the server cant find the page. Nothing in the log
except a not found message. Anybody seen this and fixed it?
2: The first page, the one mapped with /$ is returned as plain/text instead
of plain/html or what ever it should be. Before I start digging, does anyone
know what this is?
On another note, is WebKeeper and Perforce really as fast as it seems? Setup
like this: Apache Server FreeBSD PPro 180MHz w. 192MB internal memory and
document root on 4GB Narrow SCSI disk, Perforce server FreeBSD 2xPII 200MHz
w 256MB internal memory and depot on 4GB Ultra Wide SCSI disks, connected
with 100MB Ethernet. I was surprised to getting better results in this setup
compared to running the pages of the local document root. Is there any known
problems with scaling or so?
