You may know from reading the Wishlist that I am already toying with making Boost a MySQL++ dependency (for portable mutexes), but it's such a complex library that I keep putting it off. Lots of potential benefits, but lots of potential pain, too.

I can help with this, I have experience with Boost and its build system.

I'm not worried about using Boost features in MySQL++. I'm worried about telling every single MySQL++ user on the planet that they have to install and set up Boost before MySQL++ will work. I'm worried about 90% of problem reports to this list being Boost misconfiguration problems.
