Hi all,

I have tried to compile courier-imap with authuserdb ONLY and setup the db as follows: 1. mkdir /etc/userdb 2. chmod 700 /etc/userdb 3. /usr/lib/courier-imap/share/userdb "ideahome.net/kevi@ideahome.net" set home=/home/vmail mail=/home/vmail/domains/ideahome.net/kevin.lam uid=501 gid=501 4. /usr/lib/courier-imap/sbin/userdbpw | /usr/lib/courier-imap/share/userdb "ideahome.net/kevi@ideahome.net" set imappw 5. /usr/lib/courier-imap/sbin/makeuserdb

And I use outlook express to connect to it, and the error in maillog is: Sep 14 15:28:32 mail01 imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:192.168.1.122] Sep 14 15:28:37 mail01 imapd: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:192.168.1.122]

What else should I check? And I think I'll try authmysql later, but the readme does not tell how to setup a virtual mailbox?

Check if this is a problem with the client. Try to login manually by connecting to port 143 and enter "x LOGIN kevi@ideahome.net password"
