I'm having trouble installing a brand new courier mailserver.

I'm following the instructions in the file http://courier.souceforge.net/install.html - I've downloaded the tar.gz file, created the user courier, logged in as a user (not root) and extracted the tar to a sub-directory in my home directory, cd to ~/courier/courier-0.29.1 and run ./configure

A short time (but many lines) later, I get the error message: checking for strncasecmp... yes configure: error: Unable to run test program. configure: error: ./configure failed for cgi

I'm running SuSE Linux 7.0 - any clues to help me continue?
