Thanks - I was reading the qsub man page in detail after I submitted the
question, and I just found the "-shell no" option. Sorry !

A couple of ways:
1) Change "shell_start_mode" in the SGE configuration to "unix_behavior"
(see sge_conf(5)).
2) Remove the shell(s) of the user(s) in question from "login_shells"
(again, see sge_conf(5)).
