That normally depends on the program indicated by COURIERTLS, in imapd-ssl, being executable. If imap over SSL is working, then TLS should, too.

When I add the STARTTLS to IMAP_CAPABILITY hardly in imapd-ssl then it's in the list, but the STARTTLS command fails.

Don't do that. That's not how courier determines its TLS capability.

Really? Then what's running on port 143?

OK! but it's not used in the init script, i set it to YES and restart imapd and imapd-ssl but no change!
