It works now. It was a problem because both 3.XXX and 4.0.5 were installed and somehow the winsqladmin from 4.0.5 was starting 3.XXX instead of 4.0.5. Uninstalled, did a clean install and all runs, thank you.

BTW, does someone know about some production sites/applications that use MySQL 4.0.X ? I want to prove to my superiors that you don't have to pay thousands dollars for a "BIG BOS" server, you can use a smarter solution (e.g. MyQSL), it's all about what you want to do. And anyways I've seen some test that were showing MySQL going along Oracle and above all other servers so it is my believe that MySQL will become a equal/bigger competitor to any DB server on the market. Not mention the price that makes any others to look prohibitive.

Myself, I am amazed about MySQL 4.0.5 performance with InnoDB (interested in transactions too not only performance) table. I simply love it. Compared to other databases it's like you would go hunting with a lightweight, easy to use, deadly carabine (MySQL) compared with double barreled old heavy weapons that could kill a bear by hiting it not shooting it :-)
