Title: RE: UBL CC presentation to D1/D2

Hartmut,

We would really like the full three hours, because we are anxious to begin doing some joint work. By allowing three hours, we could do the presentation, explain the methodology, walk you through the schema's and begin the validation of the BIEs and CCs with you.

Mark

Dear Mark et all,

Indeed we reserved 1 up to three hours for your presentation. I am personally very much interested. But I fear there could be external influences which don't allow three hours. I feel we have to compromise for just 2 hours. Could that work with you? Jean-Luc,

Thank you very much. My guess is a full morning session would be best, and will assume you can make that a reality.

I realize you are in a difficult position as both the proof of concept entailed in Melanie's work, and the proof of concept entailed in the UBL work, are equally important. The nice thing about the UBL work is that it is an independent proof of concept external to CEFACT, using a slightly different approach (deconstructing existing messages based on EDIFACT and X12), and as such might help justify moving the CC spec to the next level as the second proof of concept required by the Open Development Process. Also, UBL is most anxious to have D2 take the CC's/BIE's we have developed, and consider them for submission to the harmonization team for consideration as CEFACT CC's/BIE's.

Are you perchance going to be at TC154 in two weeks? I will be in Geneva for both the MOU MT meeting, and the TC 154 meeting. In any event, looking forward to seeing you soon in Barcelona.

For Hartmut,

As I am sure you will be in Geneva, perhaps we can get together and plot strategy for the next round of comment resolution.

warmest regards,

Hi Mark,

I'm pleased to send you the agenda of the next D1, D2 and D1/D2 meeting. As you will read it, during join D1/D2 meeting, we've arranged at least 1h30 on Wed 20/3 for you or somebody else from UBL to present UBL CC realisation. It can be extend to the full morning if needed. I know we could allow more time but there was already a request from Melanie to work on CC Supplementary Document starting with the Boeing Procurement Business Process Analysis document. As well as EDIFrance and EAN Int'l who wanted to present their business processes analysis.

Anyway I'm sure this is a good starting point for our futur work within D1/D2 or whatever it will become.

See you in Barcelona. Kind regards, Jean-Luc
