This is excellent news - but I have to make one important correction to your description of the area covered in the UK - it is the South East of England ... that is the whole area surrounding London (covering 22 transport authorities), but not within London (other than those services which operate in both the SE and London regions).

We have three exciting pieces of news to share with you tonight:

Google Maps now includes transit information for three Bay Area transit properties: Caltrain, BART and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority. Caltrain Press Release: http://www.caltrain.org/news_2007_11_07_google_transit.html

On November 1st, Metro Vancouver became the first region in Canada where transit customers can plan their trips using Google Maps. Joe Hughes made the trip up North for the launch activities with Vancouver's TransLink. Blog post: http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2007/11/transit-routing-up-north.html

Today, we launched the trip planner functionality in Europe! Current coverage includes Switzerland (national coverage); the United Kingdom (South East and London regions); and Italy (Turin and Florence). Blog post: http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2007/11/google-transit-trip-planning-in-e urope.html

We continue to work to expand our coverage and our capabilities.

Stay tuned.
