Dear courier users,
I am trying to get the moderation side of couriermlm working. If I use POST=all
everything seams OK.
If I use POST=subscribers or POST=mod the subscribed user michael gets a reply
basically saying that he is not subscribed
Sorry to be so verbose - but set out below is basically step by step on how i
set it up. This may help you determine how or where I stuffed up.
couriermlm create /home/yr2004 ADDRESS=year...@blah.com POST=mod KEYWORD=BLAH
NAME=moderator_2004
For testing purposes - chmod -R 777 /home/yr2004
adduser mod2004
vi /home/mod2004/.courier-year2004
put line in: |/usr/lib/courier/bin/couriermlm msg /home/yr2004
vi /home/mod2004/.courier-year2004-default
put line in: |/usr/lib/courier/bin/couriermlm ctlmsg /home/yr2004
vi /home/mod2004/.courier-year2004-owner
put line in: mode...@blah.com
adduser moderator2004
adduser michael
couriermlm sub /home/yr2004 mich...@blah.com
than a ctrl - D
Now because it is a restricted list - NOT ALLOWING anyone to subscribe -
(basically set up to send occasional emails/newsletters etc.. to
parents/associates of the school) I have not rightly or wrongly edited the
template files.
doing a couriermlm lsub /home/yr2004 tells me michael is subscribed.
If i send an email to mod2...@blah.com I get a returned email that says
I am not subscribed.
To make sure system is functioning to a degree I edited the POST line in
/home/yr2004/options to read POST=mod
Tested again and this time an email from the list is forwarded to
mich...@blah.com
Basically what you see above is the proceedure i used to create the mailing list
and get michael subscribed to a list. I would definely prefer a moderated list.
Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong or what I should re-read.
Again looking forward to your replies.
Regards
Michael
