First of all thank you for your answer. In the postfix master.cf file I set the user equal to virtual, and this user does have permission on /var/spool/mail/virtual/

Is maildrop using some other user which I do not know. In that case how can I know what user is maildrop using?

If maildrop is invoked by root, or maildrop's binary is setuid root, maildrop will use the userid and the groupid specified by courier-authlib. If maildrop is not invoked with root privileges, it will have to run using whatever userid or groupid it was started as, of course.
