Subject:[c-nsp] PPPoEoE client dot1q support Actions...

List:net.nether.puck.cisco-nsp

I was reading list archives and saw a request from Rodney as to why one might wish to have the pppoe client support dot1q like this

interface fa0/0.1 encapsulation dot1q 1 native ip address x.x.x.x y.y.y.y

interface fa0/0.2 pppoe enable pppoe-client dial-pool 1

This would be extremely usefull on a 1721 router with only one FE. Now you can support multiple ADSL pppoe lines coming into a dot1q switch without having to purchase WIC-1E modules, of which you can have maximum of 2.

The same applies for all routers that support dot1q. It is much nicer to not need an ethernet interface for every possible pppoe client.

Has this been considered further?
