One more question pertains: Is there anything that logs tarpit activation
so that I can watch for it to happen?
Thanks again.
But if this service is forwarding all of the mail, including mal-addressed
spam causing 550 errors, won't that trigger the tarpitting? If so, a clue
as to how to disable/remove the tarpitting would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Sam!

Tarpitting is only activated if the sender repeatedly issues ESMTP
commands
that result in consecutive errors. Look in the error log to determine
what
errors they are generating, and go from there.
