I don't want to pick a fight ;-) But it seems to send from yahoo.com - BUT, courier says it isn't - which I find confusing!

From the logs: started,ip=[216.109.116.229] error,relay=216.109.116.229,from=<some...@yahoo.com>: 517-Sender rejected: some...@yahoo.com can be accepted only from error,relay=216.109.116.229,from=<some...@yahoo.com>: 517 yahoo.com's mail relays.

If I nslookup 216.109.116.229 I get: Name: web60006.mail.yahoo.com Address: 216.109.116.229

So I am assuming that the way "freemail" works is that it checks to see if the sending server is in the MX list for the freemail domain - I understood the docs to mean that it would reverse resolve within the domain - which seems to be wrong...

Can this be fixed or is it worth it considering the promised timeline from yahoo? If it's not a big deal, might be better to fix it just in case their timelines or the difficulty in implementing run long.

I just saw Sam's email quoting the yahoo statement - will go read that now - thanks.

Actually, I've taken yahoo.com out of my freemail list (don't know about yahoo.ca) because Yahoo no longer sends email from machines that are in yahoo.com. It was great while it worked because it snagged quite a few bits of spam, but unfortunately now this will also catch legit mail from Yahoo users.
