2. Shared maildirs and shared folders
A number of us at work have personal email accounts as well as
the requirement for using shared folders (actually shared maildirs)
What I wanted was the ability to make several "top-level" maildirs
in the 'shared' name space, and then each of these could have (if
necessary) folders.
I can't figure out how to do this so I've ended up with a single
maildir in the 'shared' name space (caled "SharedFolders") which in
turn has the folders in it. This again is not ideal but it works (I
can trick Exim to delivering to it).
Same thing. You simply need to reconfigure your IMAP clients.
Sam,
Thanks for the reply. I've read the FAQ/html#namespace and it's really
a "statement" rather than help on how to fix the issues...
So, you know I'm trying to get OE 5.5 working with Courier-IMAP -
if I leave the properties sheet, IMAP, root folder path blank I get what
I said before. If I change the root folder path to INBOX then I get a
"Sent Items" and "Drafts" under the inbox along with all the other folders
(not what I wanted) and even worse the shared folders vanish...
So, I'll ask again... how do I coax, persuade or otherwise configure
Outlook Express *with* Courier-IMAP (don't mind which end or both)
to get what would appear to be a sensible layout of mailboxes and
folders, namely the following heirarchy:
gate.int.thorcom.com
|
|_____inbox <- maildir
| |_____Amps <- folders
| |_____Blacksheep
| |_____ ...
| |_____ ...
| |_____ ...
| |_____VHF-DX-Contests
|
|_____Drafts <- maildir?
|
|_____Sent Items <- maildir?
|
|_____Shared <- directory, containing
|_____Sales <- maildirs
|_____Software
|_____Support
|_____Sysadmin
That is Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items and Shared all being peers, with one
level of folders below some of them...
