Hi,
thank you for your answer.

You run a mail server that receives mail addressed to a number of
domains.
All mail to user_1 should be delivered to user_1, regardless of which of
your domains it was addressed to.
Correct.
All mail to user_2, regardless
of domain,
should be sent to user_2.
Correct.
You have alias files set up so that
mail addressed
to other people, e.g. user_12, should be delivered instead to
'real' users
e.g. user_1.
Yes.
The problem you are having is that messages addressed to a real user,
user_1, are being bounced with the "550 Unknown local part"
message, despite
the fact that user_1 is listed in your mysql database, and you are using
authmysql.
Is this summation correct?
Absolute correct.
Does it happen with all your users, or just user_1?
With all users.
What is user_1's actual user name
the same name.
does it have anything other than
alphabetic characters in it?
No.
Does authtest work for user_1?
Yes, for all users.
Must i set also entry in the mysql database for every domain?
I'm afraid I'm not a mysql expert - I use userdb - but I *think* the answer
is no. Maybe someone else can provide some advice?
