Subject:[courier-users] No /dev/random for Solaris 7, mkimapcertActions...
From:Jerry Amundson (jer@pbs.com)
Date:Sep 18, 2001 9:39:43 am
List:net.sourceforge.lists.courier-users

Server is Solaris 7, OpenSSL 0.9.6b 9 Jul 2001

root@TL-mailhost # /opt/courier/share/mkimapdcert Using configuration from /opt/courier/etc/imapd.cnf unable to load 'random state' This means that the random number generator has not been seeded with much random data. Generating a 1024 bit RSA private key 21127:error:24064064:random number generator:SSLEAY_RAND_BYTES:PRNG not seeded:md_rand.c:492:You need to read the OpenSSL FAQ, http://www.openssl.org/support/faq.html 21127:error:04069003:rsa routines:RSA_generate_key:BN lib:rsa_gen.c:182:

The mkimapdcert script was pointing to /usr/local/sbin/openssl which I changed to /usr/local/ssl/bin/openssl, but I'm not sure how to get around it's use of /dev/random. I have HP, DEC, Sun, IBM, and Linux systems here - Linux is the only one I see it on...

Reply directly, if possible as I'm in the list's digest mode right now. Thanks!
