Hello,

I write bespoke front ends to MySQL database back ends, they are all windows standard look and feel. Systems are built completely to your specification and have full reporting capable of fax, email, or creating documents for virtually any format.

I have had great success with user acceptance and can give you past clients who can testify to this.

The latest projects are systems for GR London : http://www.antix.co.uk/projects.asp?p=1 LondonNights.com : http://www.antix.co.uk/projects.asp?p=7

Please contact me off list for further details.

All the best, Ant.

I'm totally new to MySQL, as of today! I've got it installed and running, and I've got MySQL-front to interface with it and have created a test database with tables and records, so far so good. We currently have a legacy database written in microfocus cobol written by a company called CDS. It functions, but its starting to get pretty dated. They have a new version on Oracle, but they want $30k to update which is a bit much to swallow since we're a small company. I'm looking into using MySQL as a replacement. I need to transfer the data in our old database to the new one, and I need a front end that is easy to use by our employees (something similiar to the old one wouldn't hurt but isn't totally necessary). The question is how do I go about doing this. Are there products out there they can act as the front end, do I need to write one (if so, in what language?), or should I hire a consultant/programmer to take care of it. Those are pretty broad questions, but hopefully someone will have had similiar problems and can point me in the right direction.
