I'm doing a big XML (contentType xml) fetch up front at initialization time when my app loads. When calling makeRequest, even though it takes <1 second in FireFox, it takes >15 seconds to load in IE7. The size of the XML I am fetching back is not extreme, but its larger than 50Kb.
