Has anyone had experience/success compiling the introductory examples on RedHat Linux 7.0? I am getting numerous compilation errors such as:

/usr/include/convert1.hh:19: declaration of `double strtod (const char *, char **)' throws different exceptions

I had many, many problems with RedHat 7 and the beta compiler they included with it (2.96). The compiler segfaulted many times while compiling MySql-3.23.30-Gamma and MySql++1.7.8, and then when I finally got it all compiled after many tries, the library itself would segfault whenever I tried to connect to a database with it.

Basically, I found the compiler on RH 7.0 to be broken in the worst of ways. Which is a shame - I'd always been happy with RedHat distributions. But it forced me to change to Mandrake 7.2

Hope this helps!
