Hi Jody I've uploaded the SU file to
http://groups.google.com/group/SketchUp/web/Vat.skp. I've found the Ruby script that will enable the volume to be calculated, but I think I need to fill my line drawing to make it a "solid" model for it to work. Is this possible in SU?

Hi treefrog,

Because SketchUp is a surface modeler and doesn't build geometry based on volume we don't automatically calculate volume. A problem that makes this imperfect is that curves in SketchUp are simply a number of line segments and therefore a cylinder or curved surface will give an inaccurate value for the volume. That being said, there is a user created Ruby script that can calculate volume to some degree which you'll find
here,http://www.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/Ruby/em_geo_page.htm. Please be aware that we (Google) don't support 3rd party Ruby scripts and you may need to contact the creator or ask the community if you have any questions or issues with this script.
