Hi,

We are currently testing a courier-imap server to see if it will be a suitable replacement for our old mail system.

The server uses postfix and courier-imap (with LDAP authentication from a Netware server). Long one short, courier and postfix authenticate using NDS, but the system also has a glitch.

When the system has been sitting for about an hour without a login, the first user that tries an imap/pop3 login will fail. The second attempt to login is successful. Courier works flawlessly until it is given another 'rest' period, then the first login attempt will fail again.

With older versions of Courier the LDAP server could end up dropping the connection from Courier after an extended period of inactivity.

The current version of Courier logs out after five minutes of inactivity. Upgrade to the current version.
