I am not right if the authdaemon can not search in base or it searchs there, but the results are null.
It cannot search in base.
It is possible that any extra component should be installed.

Check LDAP_BASEDN. Check for leading/trailing whitespace.
My LDAP_BASEDN is the root of the AD base, in the form domain.com.br. So, the directive is:
LDAP_BASEDN dc=domain, dc=com, dc=br
I use the same base (and the same format) in ldapsearch command and that is ok.
