As a follow-up to our earlier response, you may be pleased to know that our Webmaster has advised that our staff has met with Google about their product and will be working to provide Google with the tools to add Metro to the list.

Thank you. Metro Customer Relations

Hello:

I like your newly redesigned site (or new to me, anyway--I'm not sure when you updated it).

One item I wanted to ask you about, though: will you consider partnering with Google's new Google Transit project? It's like Google Maps for transit and lets people quickly and easily do trip planning and is especially useful for people transferring between two different transit companies ( e.g. Burbank Bus, which is already a Google Transit partner, Metrolink, and the MTA). I believe that Google does not charge transit providers (they make all of their money on ad revenue on most of their services)--all they need is access to your route and schedule data (specifications can be found at http://code.google.com/transit/spec/transit_feed_specification.htm).

Please consider contacting Google Transit at labs- tran@google.com. You can visit Google Transit at http:// www.google.com/transit and you can read more about it on Google's blog at http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2006/09/happy-trails-with- google-transit.html.

I believe that allowing users to plan trips using Google Transit will lead to an increase in ridership (as people will discover how easy and convenient it is, especially compared to driving) at little or no cost to you.

I and many other Metro users look forward to seeing you work with Google!
