Arjen,
Thanks for adding the listing for the Minneapolis, Minnesota group.
Hmm, it appears there's a problem there - I'm chasing that up.
There are always problems in life. I know because sometimes I create them!
Being active is good.
Yes, we are activating. Our group has launched a web site targeting novice-to-intermediate users: http://www.mysqluser.com plus .net and .org redirect to the site. I'm proud to say that we are flying [Powered by MySQL] as one of our few banners, as the site is powered by Mambo which is a PHP/MySQL CMS solution. Not much on the site yet, but we intend to grow it over time.
If you can, please change the name from 'meetup' to 'user group' - this more accurately depicts your focus of presenting and discussing news, rather than merely hanging out over a beer at a bar...
Ahem...I believe it was MySQL AB that sent us all to Meetup, and it looks like everybody just accepted the Meetup recommended name. I'm happy to hear that you got your Brisbane folks out of the bar scene... ;-) ...here in Minnesota we just go to coffeshops. Still, I agree with you about being more clear, and so we are now: Minnesota MySQL User Group
Thanks again for the listing, and forgive any prior grumpiness.
