Note. MySQL does NOT support Stored Procedures over Named Pipes ... Right Emanuel? ;)

That should save you a few hours anyway.

I fear i am being really rather stupid, but i'd like to try and use Connector.Net with named pipes rather than TCP connections to localhost (which seems a little silly)

However i am at a loss as to what connection string i should be using? - i can't find it *anywhere* in the documentation online, or in the CHM

I've been using Connector.Net and MySQL for all my projects for quite along time, and although i'm exciting by the new .net2 features round the corner my main concern is speed of it running rather than rapid development (That's why i love MySQL). I'm currently re-writing my DAL to use generics, transactions and object caching to speed up complex sites and programs that run off it - and i'm hpoing there's also speed gains to be made by named pipes!

Any client/server query optimisation advice is also is much apprechiated.

On another note; I know the mysql team are all very very busy people, is there anything that needs doing? - i'd be glad to lend a hand in anyway i can.

Many Thanks in advance.

don't know by head, but i know that is on the documentation in the connection string part (if im not wrong)

whats the conection string for a pipe using the .bet connector? i've always wanted to try it!

pipes

Quick one for you all,

I've got a client hosting their web app and MySQL on the same server. What connection type offers me the fastest speed? First answer gets a prize.
