Its not necessary. My concern was that if it existed, maybe that was where the permissions problem was. I'll have to try to look at this tonight and see if I can find it. What OS was it?

Do you have an /etc/maildroprc file? If so, what are the permissions on it?

no, i donot have, but the file $HOME/.maildirfilter exist, isnt enough ?

from the manual: If /etc/courier/maildroprc does not exist, or its mail delivery instructions do not completely dispose of this message, maildrop then reads the mail delivery instructions from $HOME/.mailfilter. If it doesn't exist, or its mail delivery instructions do not completely dispose of the message, maildrop then saves the E-mail message in the default mailbox.

so how i understand, it should not be neccessary, hmm. but i will try it out. what do you have inside maildroprc ?

thanks again.. i whish you bests, regards mike

same as before :( ..thanks anyway

Try setting up the group 502 on your system, or, chgrp the files to a valid group and see if that helps.

hy all, become near ill, because it try know for 2 weeks make maildrop to work, it think i found the point, but not how to solve:

the trouble is the var: DEFAULTDELIVERY

if i write: DEFAULTDELIVERY="| /usr/lib/courier/bin/maildrop" the mailfilter wont be executed

if i do: DEFAULTDELIVERY="| /usr/lib/courier/bin/maildrop ./Maildir" Nov 13 21:02:39 webmail courierlocal: id=00058530.43779BDF.00005978,from=<mi@edv-support.ch>,addr=<mike@edv-supp ort.ch>: /usr/lib/courier/bin/maildrop: Cannot have world/group permissions on the filter file - for your own good.

the file permission are: drwxr-xr-x 7 qmaill 502 4096 Nov 9 00:32 . drwxr-xr-x 3 qmaill 502 4096 Nov 9 00:07 .. -rw------- 1 qmaill 502 80 Nov 13 20:53 .mailfilter drwx------ 2 qmaill 502 4096 Nov 13 20:38 cur drwx------ 2 qmaill 502 4096 Nov 13 20:54 new drwx------ 2 qmaill 502 4096 Nov 9 00:13 test drwx------ 2 qmaill 502 4096 Nov 13 20:54 tmp

any ideas ? .. best regards, mike
