http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/cat2950 still says: c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA2.bin C2950 EI AND SI IOS IMAGE

And the -crypto page says: c2950-i6k2l2q4-mz.121-22.EA2.bin C2950 EI AND SI IOS CRYPTO IMAGE

Where do you find different images?

In the archives, I can see some 2955 IOS with different images for EI and SI, maybe that's what you're trying to run? Or something from back in 2002, around 12.1(6) and 12.0(5)WC2. Who wanna run that anyway?

Use the upgrade planner. Those other pages are static, don't often list but just one variant of the latest software.

12.1.13 comes in all the variants. starting with 12.1.14 the number of variants was reduced until now it is available in two only SI/EI+Crypto and SI/EI.

And the difference *IS HARDWARE*. The image will load in EI mode on EI hardware, and SI mode on SI hardware. I dont' think the crypto software loads with crypto on SI hardware. Caveat abotu the crypto software is it will limit you to 64 active VLANs BTW.
