WordPress plugins by definition are written in PHP.

Chuck, I don't believe they do, since WordPress is web-based, and is written in PHP. I would assume that plug-ins are written in PHP (or perhaps other web-based languages).

Although technically I think using PHP you can call a DLL using COM or something like that (?) so perhaps you could make it work if you really wanted to.
