I did install courier .35 yesterday on a server, and I am unable to make it work. When I telnet to port 110, I am immediately disconnected. I did suspect a problem with the authentification modules, but I don't think this is the case because authtest works. When I start pop3d, I see no error, and the 2 processes are created, however when I telnet, I get a disconnect and nothing in the log files. If anybody can suggest something to check, I would appreciate.

Look into whether you might still have inetd/xinetd hold port 110 open for a non-existent ipop3d server.
