I'm getting ready to install a new mail server. I want to configure sendmail+clamav+spamassassin+**mimedefang.

I believe postfix is considered to be much more secure and better then sendmail overall. I have a mail server and find that postfix was pretty easy to setup and configure. In addition, it is easy to manage with qshape, which installs along with Postfix.

The Postfix website has great documentation if you are interested in going this route: http://www.postfix.org/documentation.html
