Why can't he just edit the From-field on the Create Message form? Why would he need two logins, if the contents of the mailboxes are the same?

While I can't speak for him, I think they have a team of people who are accessing / handling the same mailbox, but want any email they send to have their personal "From" address without having to change this continiously.
