Can only be done with the userdb, LDAP, MySQL, or PostgreSQL-based authentication.

That's bad, I have to use nds but I can't expand it's schema and the sql is not an option too :( any idea???

I'm using NDS/eDirectory (Netware 6) without having expanded the schema. I use the mail attribute for LDAP_MAIL, set both LDAP_GLOB_UID and LDAP_GLOB_GID to vmail (which is a real user on the Linux box) have LDAP_MAILROOT set to /var/maildir and set LDAP_HOMEDIR to uid. This means user's homes are in /var/maildir/USERNAME. It works quite well. If I expanded beyond my current 2000 accounts I'd probably need to find a way to subdivide the account directories but for my purposes this works fine. Feel free to respond if you have any further questions.
