I've spent the last few hours reading on the web, on the archives of this list and in the mysql documentation packaged with version 4.1 on Debian.
The online docs will be more up to date (as well as include user comments). They're the best to look at.
Absolutely. In fact, unless Debian pulled their copy of the Manual within the last 10 days, I can guarantee that what's now on the website is much more substantial and hopefully easier to read as well. A major update to the Manual's Cluster chapter was published on 2005-02-15, including two new sections (a FAQ and and a setup How-To) and an overhaul of the existing chapter.
you can have multiple mysqlds and have transactions going to all of them. There are some limitations though, hopefully the (current online) docs are clear.
If they're not, please let me know about it, and I'll try to fix the problem ASAP. Perhaps this could even be a good question/answer for the new Cluster FAQ.
Thanks!
