Did you specify -V8 or -V9?
The /etc/maildroprc file that I've continually posted reads:
VERBOSE="8"
When I ran the line you gave me, it reads (never used -V8):
maildrop -V9 -d user...@domain-name.com < test
I can change that maildroprc line to 9 if you want...
D'oh! I missed that. Yes, please change it.
It seemed to have one and only one effect...the line now reads:
/etc/maildroprc(11): VERBOSE="9"
and then stops there. The "mail" goes into the .Spam/ subdirectory. And
there is no "delivered" message. If there's more information somewhere,
I don't know where to look.
/var/log/messages nothing new/unusual
/var/log/mail same output as before
/var/log/maildrop.log looks the same as the last test
At this point I will have to admit to being stumped. The only thing I
can suggest now is that if you originally installed using a binary
package then to uninstall the package and rebuild and reinstall from
source.
