In fact, I agree that if the author of a tool doesn't use it, it's a sign that something is wrong.

Or it's a sign of something else, like short term economics and/or business specialization. Let's grow up a little bit on the "dog food" front. I develop financial trading applications for hedge fund managers, but guess what: I don't use my own software products. Can you guess why?
