Hi.

I've just install 'mysql Ver 14.6 Distrib 4.1.4-gamma, for apple-darwin7.5.0 (powerpc)' and J-Connector 3.1.4-beta and all is now working well with accent in Latin1 character coding. pffff :-)

Thank you for all the guys who have contibuted to this result.

Hi Mark,

I haven't set any option. I used it as it is provided. I suppose it is ISO8859_1 by default. For reading from server it is ok. It is wrong when I write into the database.

Have I then to force some option?

Hi Igor, yes I use the same creation script for the tables and the same Java Source with MySQL 4.0.18 and 4.1.3.

Do I have to report this situation to MySQL list or other?

Abo,

What is your _server's_ default character set configured to be? The JDBC driver uses that as the character set to send data encoded as.
