could be anything? show us the ldaprc

and the acl you have in the slapd.conf

the user that you have in the authldaprc should have access to the password attribute in the ldap

do a command line search binding to the ldap as the user /password you have in the authldaprc and see if you can see the password attribute

the acl in the slapd.conf is quite tricky and not very clearly documented
