Hi, I have run mysql on win98 for a while, but recently I wiped my drive and rebuilt my system. Now when I run mysql it takes at least 20 seconds to connect, whether I go in through the command line or through a php script. Running phpmyadmin takes over 60 seconds to bring up the first page -- every twenty seconds or so it will complete a connection to the mysql server and bring up another section of the screen.

I honestly don't know what could be causing mysql to run this slowly. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas what might cause this 20-23 second delay?
