if the gadget is minimised, or the sidebar is minimised, it cannot display "popups" like the details view. but, specially for a feed gadget or something similar, u can use the notification, like u see in gd when a new news item or a mail is received. u may search, how to work with the notification, because even i m not an expert in it. :P

I am developing a gedget in which i will be getting some notifications from server. If my gadget is running on desktop then they will appear in some area dedicated for those notifications. Now if my sidebar is minimised/ viewed on desktop but i am connected to server and not performing any operations from gadget then i want to show the notifications as a popup (simillar to the popups in GTalk or toast in yahoo messenger or popus in outlook for new mail received ). So is it possible to do so and show the notifications as a popup. If possible plz help me.
