Nice work so far. Some UI usability concerns though... It is better to group controls (Plus, Minus. zoom buttons) together so user does not have to scan the screen for them. My recommendation is to position them close to the first letters of the turn instructions. This is a visual anchor for the user's focus every time he or she looks at the screen in order to manipulate controls, read turn instructions or look at the map. Include an indication in the turn instruction how far away from the turn the driver is, e.g. count down 0.5 0.4 0.3... miles and position this information close to the visual anchor. First thing driver wants to know when looking at the screen is whether he or she has to take action and make a turn soon. I presume the street name you display is the street name for the next turn. GPS and data quality bars and distance to destination are too prominent and take up too much space. Visual clutter. Good luck.

Any feedback is appreciated.
