Hi,

IF there is no arbitrator when your 2 data nodes go down, the whole cluster will go down because there is no process to do the arbitration.

If you take the 2 data nodes down first, then the management node, the other 2 nodes will stay up.

Hello Jonathan,

If so, MySQL Cluster entirely go down when only one management node is down and two data node go down?

We expect two data node still work in that case.

Thanks, Kenji

Hi,

In any case that the Data Nodes can not reach the arbitrator such as in e going down, then all will shutdown as a safe guard.

Hello,

I perhaps asked someone in the past, but would like to ask to make sure.

Let's say; there are five servers, named A, B, C, D, and E

one data node are running on each server, A, B, C, and D one management node is runnning on one server, E

If network fails and MySQL Cluster split into two parts, such as, "A, B" and "C, D, E".

Then, "A, B" will go down because they can not reach Arbitrator.

Then, my question is, if "C, D, E" go down at the exactlly same time, "A, B" wil go down?

Or, still "A, B" keep working?

In my understanding, if some of data node go down exactlly at the same time, they are treated as network failure.

Hope someone can answer.
