Hello,

I need to reset the root password for a production database using Mysql 4.1. I tried with the information in the manual (http://dev.mysql.com/ doc/mysql/en/resetting-permissions.html), but when I try to run

mysqld-nt --skip-grant-tables

the server falls and I can't stablish the conection in this way.

Is there any other way to reset the password? Is ther any way to back up the data in order to reinstall mysql?
