This is how our sysadmin set up the scheduler to run every 5 minutes:
"It's an ugly hack, but it works. First you set up some date and time for it to run. I have it running daily at 3:45pm. In the advanced properties of the task, you check the box next to "Repeat Task". I set it for every 5 minutes, but the key is the duration. If you set it for 24 hours, then it keeps going until the next "daily" run, which starts the process over."

Randy,
Can you describe how to properly set up a scheduled task in Windows to run the Eventum scripts? This would great as some users here use third party solutions to do it. I would like to see some folks who have successfully used task scheduler to post how they set it up. Thanks.

We did end up using the scheduler, and it's working well. But as some others pointed out in the discussion thread I referenced, the scheduler is a little more difficult to set up than a Unix-type cron job. One of the users said something to the effect that the scheduler can't run jobs as frequently or flxibly as cron. My sysadmin said that is not correct, and currently we've got the mail job running every 5 minutes.

Randy,
The following thread discusses the issue, and suggests some alternatives to cron and scheduler if you prefer not to use scheduler.
I don't really run a Windows server, so I might not be understanding the problem here, but why wouldn't you want to use the Task Scheduler?
Just curious.
