Hi, Welcome to android hacker :P hope it helps http://www.logicpd.com/ti/zoom_mdk
in my opinion (i've ported android on i-MX31L) the most important thing is kernel, android source code is not released yet. (did i miss something ?) if you want to make an application, you only need to install the SDK test your application using emulator. that's all. once you can build your apps and runs well on emulator, you only need to copy the apk file to /data/apps on the running android board.
About how to install "linux on the box" it's really depend on the board itself. every board comes with "getting started document". the things those you need to prepare are android kernel source, kernel development package, bunch of patches, and linux.

Hello,
I'm a windows developer with 17 years experience, and finally deciding to delve into linux, java, and c. I have done some java and c in the past, but not extensively. I have no experience with linux. This brings me to my current dilemna. I need to deploy android to a Nokia N810 for development testing purposes. I am familiar enough with java to write the code that I need in eclipse, assuming I can get Android deployed to my Nokia N810.
I do not have a Linux box yet...just this Windows Vista laptop. I also have an HTC mogul, which is another platform that I am targeting for my application.
In any case, I would appreciate any guidance / assistance in getting android moved over. I am not sure what hardware i need to buy, or how to install linux onto the box. However, I am a quick learner, and am very eager to get this done, and to understand how to replicate the success on future development N810's that I plan to purchase.
I am also looking for seasoned java developers to do some temporary consulting, which may result in an offer for employment.
Any advice would be welcomed (along with any criticism's about my M$ experience ;)
Thanks, Terryhttp://www.fractalbrokers.com
