Per maildrop INSTALL file:

If you intend to use quotas, you should install maildrop with quota support, but do not activate quotas for some period of time.

I have two simple questions:

1. What does "some period of time" mean? I assume this is relative to how active my mail server is, but I'd like to get a general idea... if even in terms of number of messages processed.

2. What does it mean to "not activate" quotas? I enabled quotas when configuring, but I have commented out the "quota_field" in my maildropmysql.config file. I *do* have a quota column in my MySQL table, and it *is* being referenced by courier-imap (although imap doesn't appear to do anything with that info)... all rows for that column are empty strings (can't be null or imap complains). It is not clear where to draw the line between "activated" and not. Do I want maildirsize files when it isn't activated?

Thanks,

Paul
