I was just perusing the src tree and noticed that there didn't seem to
be any ia64-specific boot-loader code checked into the src tree--is there
anyone actively working on this? If not, I did some of this work for HP, and
I'd be very interested in taking it on, or even helping (I also have a
proprietary architecture/system simulator available for personal testing)...
Porting /boot/loader to EFI has been on my list, and I put in a fair
bit of time several months ago, though mainly in the area of getting
the FreeBSD toolchain to emit PECOFF, etc. I believe Doug Rabson has
also done work on porting loader, though taking a different approach.
At least from my perspective, anyone who actually *wants* to work on
/boot/loader, or with EFI, is more than welcome to step in and take
responsibility for that side of things, though.
